This year also I wento to Sardinia Island for my family summer holidays. We chose the same place of  2002, a very quiet and beautiful location near S.Teodoro, on the north east coast of the island.
This time I wanted to keep the things simple: no big antennas and focused my activity on the 6mts band. Juts put a simple ground plane antenna with four wire radials and a 4 el yagi for 144Mhz. This almost invisible setup surprised me for the quality of results, under good "ES"  openings, the vertical is more the less than a yagi  with the advantage that it need'nt rotation. This year I was also surprised by the good CW activity on 6 meters, making me chose to operate that mode almost exclusively. Worked also some good DX on 144Mhz tropo, but I didn't spend much time on the band.
